Welcome to Sunrise Ski Patrol

Sunrise Ski Patrol provides first aid and promotes ski and snowboard safety and education to guests and employees of Sunrise Park Resort.

All patrollers are trained to perform outdoor emergency medical care, maintain safety features of the ski area, and ensure a safe on-hill experience for all of our guests. Base Patrollers run our aid rooms at the base areas. Alpine Patrollers are also qualified to transport injured patients off of the mountain. We also have Junior Patrollers (ages 15-17 years old) who assist with on-hill safety operations. Our patrollers ride alpine skis, telemark skis, or snowboards.

Depending on the weather, our season typically runs December through March. All patrollers are required to commit to 14 duty days, including 2 days of refresher training the first full weekend of November, every year. Volunteers patrol on weekends and holidays.

Members pay dues to the National Ski Patrol and to the Sunrise Ski Patrol. Some required training has additional costs.

Patroller benefits are determined by the ski area management. The ski area currently provides the patroller uniform and a lift pass to all members in good standing. Members may earn additional lift ticket vouchers or a family season pass, depending on years of service and duty days completed.
